Lasers in Dentistry
Heat and vibration are the main causes of discomfort associated with dental drills. Since laser treatment does not emit heat or vibration, as the laser handpiece does not actually touch your tooth or gum, many dental procedures can be completed without anaesthesia.
At Just Smile, we choose to use the DELight Versa Wave® Dental laser. This advanced laser allows Dr Rammo to remove tooth decay and bacteria, which results in smaller fillings and preserving as much of your natural tooth as possible.
Lasers can gently perform numerous soft tissue procedures including precise gum surgery, which can be completed in greater comfort with a faster recovery and with little or no bleeding. They can also prepare your teeth in a way that maximises the bonding of tooth coloured fillings, allowing them to last longer.
