Ozone Therapy & Water Treatment
Ozone is utilised for its antimicrobial properties to treat water that goes into the dental chair. This ensures that only the purest water throughout the system all the way to you.
Using a special devise, Ozone is applied to teeth to eliminate decay and bacteria before placing a restoration. Dr Rammo also uses Ozone prior to applying fissure sealant to enhance its longevity.
What is Ozone?
Ozone has been used to provide pure water and in other processes since the late 1960’s and its effectiveness as an oxidising agent is well documented. Ozone is produced naturally during thunderstorms and can be easily reproduced for dental purposes in a controlled manner using a specially developed dental ozone unit.
Ozone is extremely effective at reducing the amount of bacteria and viruses present in water and air.

This technology uses the direct application of Ozone to the tooth surface through the use of a delivery hand piece. Up to now, there has been no way to eliminate decay, apart from mechanical removal. This is usually with the use of a dental drill. Incomplete removal of decay can lead to failure of a restoration.
This technology can be used to halt early signs of decay or to check that all decay has been removed prior to the placement of a restoration. This treatment can offer you piece of mind knowing that even the very smallest amount of decay has been removed.
