Dental Implant Supported Bridge:

A Dental Implant is often used at the back of the mouth if you have lost multiple teeth to allow for the placement of a Dental Bridge. A dental implant will be placed at the rear of the mouth so that a dental bridge will have something to be attached to. A Dental Bridge is constructed out of a pontic (false tooth) and two exterior crowns which are connected on either side of the pontic. One of these crowns will be adhered to the dental implant and the other crown will connect to your existing natural teeth. We will construct your dental bridge in accordance with the rest of your natural smile so that the shape and colour fits cohesively. There are many reasons why you may lose a tooth. Yes. To assure it’s safety, we use digital technology usind 3D X-rays and implant planning software to 3D print a guide for safe and precise placement of implants.

Will I be without teeth?

In most cases you will have set of temporary teeth on the day, sometimes in a week’s time.

Is the procedure painful?

Any surgical procedure will involve some level of discomfort which easily managed with strong pain killers.

How long does the treatment take?

3-4 months, you will have temporary teeth for about 3 months to have full healing and bone growing around the implants. Then the final set of teeth will be made for you.

What are the risks and considerations with Dental Implants/All-on-4?

Dental implants can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth, while All-on implants support a full arch of replacement teeth on 4–6 implants. Careful planning and digital imaging can help guide placement, but all surgical procedures carry risks. Before implant surgery, habits such as smoking may need to be stopped for a period to support healing.  Sometimes bone grafts or sinus lifts are required to provide enough bone for secure implant placement, and each of these procedures carries additional considerations.

  • In the upper jaw, implants may be placed close to the sinus, and complications such as sinus involvement or reduced bone support can occur.
  • In the lower jaw, implants may be near nerves that affect sensation to the lips, chin, or tongue. In rare cases, temporary or permanent changes in sensation may occur.
  • Implants may occasionally fail to integrate with bone and need to be removed and replaced. Regular reviews every 4–6 months are important to detect and manage problems early.
  • After surgery, it is common to experience swelling, bruising, or mild bleeding for several days. Pain may last 1–2 weeks and can usually be managed with medication.
