The process of veneers will involve filing down part of the tooth which can involve a tingling sensation. This is done so that the veneers don’t feel too big once fitted to your teeth. Once your veneers are bonded to your natural teeth they will feel just like your natural teeth, taking up no extra room unless they are being used to elongate short teeth. They may take a little while to get used to but after the first week most patients feel no difference. Treatment appropriateness, risks, and expected results vary for each patient. At our practice, we caters to anxious patients so that you can get a new smile no matter what. We offer a range of anaesthetic options including nitrous oxide and more. We also have offer a range of treatments that are ergonomically designed for anxious patients. Our laser technology is much less invasive than surgery using scalpels so many patients feel much more comfortable receiving this treatment.
A dental crown is a restorative treatment while veneers are cosmetic. You will require a dental crown when your tooth has been damaged significantly or possibly after receiving root canal therapy. A crown is used to strengthen the tooth so if your dentist deems that your tooth is too weak for a filling or for other means of repair then they will recommend a dental crown. Veneers will only be recommended for damaged teeth if the problems are cosmetic. For example if you have small chips at the very surface of your teeth then veneers may be right for you. Veneers can also conceal discolouration and other cosmetic imperfections.
Same day loading means that you will receive your permanent crown on the same day as your implant. This reduces the number of appointments you require.
Pain in your tooth does not automatically mean that you need a root canal. Dr Rammo will assess your condition and recommend the best solution. Most commonly you will require a fissure sealant or filling and a root canal will only be recommended if completely necessary.
