Nobel Biocare implants are used for a number of different types of tooth loss including multiple tooth loss, singular tooth loss and full arch tooth loss. Implants can be used as a support mechanism for a full denture bridge which will be fitted to your implant in order to create the best bite for total function including speech, chewing and jaw bone support.

Why replace a missing tooth?

Teeth are responsible for maintaining jaw bone strength and density. The density of your jawbone is what gives your face a defined and shapely jaw. Without this density your lower jaw will begin to recede which can change the shape of your jaw and compromise the sturdy support that your teeth need in order to stay stable. Your teeth roots connect with your jaw which is how you are able to bite, smile, chew and speak with confidence – without worrying about your teeth falling out.

A dental implant is an artificial way to stimulate this process. The implant itself acts as the artificial tooth root, while the implant crown (or pontic) acts as your artificial tooth.
